Description
(Prevention and treatment of mild respiratory lesions)
COMPOSITION:
Anzofin is a natural-based drug that is made up of active ingredients in Rosemary, Eucalyptus, and some other herbs. The drug is formulated in such a way that its various components empower and enhance the therapeutic effects of each other by a synergistic activity. The most important constituents in the drug composition include the followings: 1, 8 Cineol, Camphene and various Sesquiterpenes.
MECHANISM OF ACTION:
Camphor and Camphene are natural molecules that are chemically classified as the terpenoids. The physicochemical properties of two compounds are very similar. Both have a bicyclic structure. Camphor acts as an agonist for a number of TRP receptors. These receptors are predominantly known as microscopic thermometers. TRP receptors except their characteristic feature that is the regulation of cold and heat sensing, also have widespread attributes due to their association with various physiological functions. For instance, they also have substantial anti-inflammatory, relieving and relaxing effects. Also, since TRP receptors are predominantly found in neurons, their stimulation with natural agonists (e.g. Camphene) resulted in pain relieve and analgesic effects. In addition, it has been shown that treatment with natural agonists of receptors on neurons, such as Cineole causes a significant reduction in airways inflammation and cough reflux. Moreover, Camphor like Cineole is effective on TRP receptors.
THERAPEUTIC FEATURES:
The active ingredients are mucolytic (expectorant), and therefore induce the relaxation and dilation of the airways. Also, the drug can relieve the inflammation, stop the hemorrhagic lesions and help to heal the mucosal sores in the airways.
INDICATIONS: Anzofin improves clinical symptoms of mild respiratory infections, facilitates respiration and prevents the progression of the disease towards acute phases.
TARGET ANIMALS: It can be administered for a variety of birds, including chicken, turkey, quail, partridge, and others.
INSTRUCTIONS TO USE: Add and mix 1 liter of the drug to 1000 liters of drinking water and use it for 3-5 days (8 hours a day) under the supervision of a veterinarian.
CONTRAINDICATIONS: Not to be used in conjunction with drinking vaccines.
CLINICAL TRIALS:
The results of the clinical trials on Anzofin are as follows:
- The results of an in-vitro test on Anzofin: The following table represents the results of the antibiotic susceptibility testing on Salmonella, Staphylococcus aureus and E.coli by the standard disc diffusion method using the discs containing Anzofin.
- Results of in-vivo experiments: Day old chicks (n=310) were kept under the standard conditions until the age of 43 days. The chicks were divided in 5 experimental groups as follows: Group 1 was negative control. Groups 2-5 were treatment groups. At the age 20 day old, groups 2-5 were infected by viral particles. Group 3 received Anzofin at the onset of the clinical symptoms. Group 4 received a routine drug at the onset of the clinical symptoms. Group 5 was treated with Anzofin at first day of contamination with viral particles (day 20) before the onset of clinical symptoms.
