PI222 contains well-known herbs with anesthetic properties (such as Clove) formulated with state-of-the-art knowledge of herbal medicine. The main active ingredient is Eugenol from Clove, combined with Carvacrol and Eugenol acetate (Acetyl-eugenol) in precise concentrations optimized for efficacy. Eugenol has structural similarity to famous anesthetics (Lidocaine, Procaine) and contains the Vanillyl moiety present in well-known anesthetics, making it capable of inducing anesthesia similar to conventional anesthetics. PI222 is precisely formulated with adjusted dosage, non-toxic solvents, stabilizers, emulsifiers and co-emulsifiers to be completely stable, safe and soluble. The combination of various herbal substances acts in synergy to provide enhanced anesthetic effect with reduced side effects. An appropriate anesthetic for aquaculture must have water solubility, capability of inducing safe anesthesia, rapid recovery, no complications or stressful stimulation, no environmental toxicity, and wide margin between effective and lethal doses. Anesthesia in fish is established for procedures such as vaccination, examination, semen collection, medical intervention and surgery.
